Learn to Lead

The Dogtooth Climbing Gym Lead Climbing course will take you through the vital steps and provide you the skills knowledge to progress your climbing to the next level.

Our instructor will cover a wide range of technical skills that will prepare you for outdoor leading climbing when you are ready to challenge yourself on real rock.

Topics covered include:

Equipment
Lead belaying & clipping
Safety principles of lead belaying and clipping
Rope preparation
Fall factors
Strategy and risk management.

Price includes equipment rental, lead climbing

belay test.

All participants will be assessed on their climbing abilities.

Cost: $75 per participant

Minimum age: 14 years

Minimum group size: 2

All prices plus GST

This program is only available to Top Rope climbers who are able to climb 5.10a comfortably.

We also offer an additional 1 - 1 1/2 hour follow up session for sport climbing anchors for $ 25 per person
